Every housewife will agree that mould and mildew in humid spaces such as bathroom are a common problem! 🐛🦠 So, I have brought a safe and budget-friendly method for which you all will thank me later! 😉👌 All we need is a combination of several household products and NO chemicals, chlorine or vinegar! 🧪❌ Be ready to take notes as I am going to share the step-by-step guide in this article! 👇
Mould and mildew in humid spaces are common problems, but they can be tackled in various ways. Different people have their preferred methods, from using chlorine to vinegar, and even harsh chemicals like caustic soda. However, I prefer using safe and inexpensive household items that are easily accessible and budget-friendly. Here’s a straightforward, effective method to eliminate mould, demonstrated using a bathroom as an example. Time to begin!

Essential Materials:
Laundry detergent
Baking soda
An old toothbrush
A mixing bowl
A stiff sponge
Cotton pads
Rubber gloves
A Comprehensive Guide:
1. Prepare the Cleaning Mixture
Grab a small container, like a plastic plate, and add about 5 tablespoons of baking soda. Then, add some laundry detergent—no need to measure exactly, just a generous amount—and mix everything together well. Aim for a smooth, not too thick consistency.
Tip: Use a spoon dedicated only for cleaning tasks to avoid mixing it with your kitchen utensils.

2. Apply the Solution
Take an old toothbrush and gently apply the mixture to the mouldy areas. Allow it to rest for approximately 10 minutes. Afterward, rinse it off and give the area a quick scrub with a sponge. The result should be impressive!
For better results, let the solution sit for a longer period—this will give you an even more effective clean.

3. Extra Treatment
After the first round, continue your cleaning efforts. Add a bit more detergent to the mixture, and soak cotton pads in the solution. Place the pads over the mouldy spots.
Pro tip: To ensure the pads stay in position, dampen them again at intervals during the day. I kept mine in place for 10 hours with great results.

Once you’ve finished the treatment, examine the tidied space. For me personally, it was spotless, fresh, and white! And the best part? No need for expensive cleaners or harsh chemicals.

Baking soda and laundry detergent are simple, cost-effective tools in the battle against mould. You don’t have to spend a lot or expose yourself to harmful fumes. With these easy-to-find ingredients, you can successfully tackle mould and mildew at home!
