The fate had other plans for today’s unique girl named Supatra. Her arrival on August 5, 1999 came as a big shock for not only her family, but also medical staff. The whole thing that there have been only 50 cases like this ever recorded in history. The happiness of her parents Sompon and Samrerng quickly turned into astonishment as she came into this world.
She was born with so much hair that it covered her whole face and body. It was something doctors had hardly ever seen calling it Ambras syndrome. It became the first case in Thailand, by the way.
The poor girl always had to silently endure bullying and teasing of her peers and classmates who considered her «different» not including her in the company. They heartlessly called her a «monster» and the one with a «monkey face» which hit her just like a sharp knife.
While doctors didn’t even want to let her mother take the baby home being convinced that she would abandon the girl, Supatra grew surrounded by love and parental affection. Throughout her life she has tried many methods but nothing including laser removal helped her. Her hair became only thicker and darker. Through the years she learnt to accept herself without trying to change her appearance.
