One day Laura was driving next to a house in Virginia and saw a puppy outside. At first, there wasn’t something unusual, but then she considered stopping and checking the puppy.
She discovered, that the puppy was chained to a tree. She didn’t have food and water snd there was just a rough-looking kennel to sleep.
She started visiting the puppy once every few days and over time she started recognizing her. She started to bring food and water and give her love and affection, something that her owner refused to do.
Laura considered calling animal control and couldn’t believe someone could treat a puppy like this. But the animal control officers told, that there was nothing they could do for the puppy as long as she has food and shelter.
Laura considered another way to rescue the puppy. Laura visited the puppy three times a week for a whole year to feed and interact with her. The dog was left chained to a tree even during the whole winter.
One day Laura took her mother to see the puppy and she asked her to call animal control once more. And this time they took the puppy from her owner. And they also asked for a new owner for the puppy and Laura eagerly agreed to take her.
Laura named her Takia and was amazed by how grateful and appreciative the sweet puppy was of every small thing that Laura performed for her.
Takia is now free to enjoy her life after so many years of being chained to a tree.
