“A final goodbye in Milan…” 🖤✨ Donatella Versace stood among those honoring Giorgio Armani, as the fashion world gathered in silence and sorrow. The powerful images from the farewell are in the article 👇
Donatella Versace was among those who came to say a final goodbye to the legendary designer in Milan. The emotional ceremony gathered close friends, colleagues, and admirers of Giorgio Armani.

Armani passed away on September 4 at the age of 91. His death was caused by a lung infection. In recent years, he had suffered complications linked to COVID-19 and spent time in a clinic shortly before his passing. After his condition appeared to improve, he was released home, where he died peacefully.
The farewell is being held at Armani/Teatro on Via Bergognone in Milan. The venue was softly lit with lanterns resembling candlelight, while a portrait of Armani and one of his reflections were shown on screen: “Everything begins with respect and attention to people and reality — this is the mark I want to leave behind.”
His coffin remained closed in accordance with his wishes. Armani also requested that the first to say goodbye should be the staff of his fashion house. Among the notable figures attending were Milan’s mayor Giuseppe Sala and Donatella Versace, who honored the designer with her presence.

For the occasion, Donatella wore a sharp blazer paired with a slim skirt, high heels, and her signature sunglasses. Her blonde hair, left loose, framed her look with quiet elegance.
The public will be able to pay respects over the weekend, while the funeral will take place on Monday, September 8, a day officially declared as one of mourning in Milan.

Armani had missed Fashion Week shows for the first time in his career due to illness. Still, he had hoped to recover and return to his work in September to continue shaping new collections.
