Just a few weeks back, I was invited to my friend’s cottage. She’s always been fond of nature, having grown up in a village, so owning a little countryside retreat had been her dream for years.
Armed with gifts, a few friends and I headed over, ready to enjoy the day. While the guys gathered outside, chatting and firing up the grill, we stepped into the house to lend a hand with the cooking. I expected a typical, modest summer home. But the moment I crossed the threshold, I was speechless.
The exterior was nothing out of the ordinary—simple, like countless other cottages. But inside? It was like stepping into a boutique-style haven. The entire interior followed a cohesive theme, blending elegance with cozy charm. It was clear that every piece of furniture and every decoration had been chosen with care. A delicate staircase curved its way up to the first floor, adding a touch of sophistication.
Upstairs, there was a charming bedroom, complete with a plush, inviting bed that practically called out for an afternoon nap. The living room, though compact, was thoughtfully arranged. It started right from the entrance, offering enough room for lounging and dining without feeling cramped. There was even a wardrobe and a TV—small luxuries that made the space feel more like a permanent home than a seasonal getaway.
What truly impressed me was how she managed to fit a functional kitchen into a corner without disrupting the aesthetic. Everything about the house radiated warmth and style. I couldn’t help but envy her little escape.
