Many viewers remember her as the star of «Serial Mom», the role which brought her career into a whole new level. It was back in the 1980s that the outstanding actress graced Hollywood with her unique charm and charisma. Despite her incredible career heights and accomplishments, her personal life was fraught with struggles and insecurities.
Raised with four siblings in London and Venezuela, as a child she experienced the first and biggest loss – her father passed away unexpectedly. Soon, the family was forced to leave the UK. It was in New York already that Turner, already as an adult, pursued an acting career soon earning the role of the femme fatale in 1981’s «Body Heat».
It should be mentioned that she was fortunate enough to co-star with M. Douglas in «Romancing the Stone» and on-screen chemistry happened between them. At that point, Douglas was separated from his wife, Jay Weiss, however, became the man whom Turner married in 1984. The couple welcomed a daughter.
It was in 2005 that their marriage came to an end. However, unsuccessful personal life was not the only issue that caused her trouble. In the 1990s shewas diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Initially, she tried to «mute» the pain with the help of alcohol, but later was rehabilitated.
Currently, she appears as a senior lady who has noticeably gained weight and become wrinkled which is absolutely normal when getting old.
