This farmer heroically saves a freezing baby cow’s life

Exactly like people, many animals are subject to be endangered because of extreme weather conditions.

They are able to experience things such as hypothermia and frostbite which encourages many people to take care and keep the defenseless creature warm. This heartwarming story reveals a bighearted farmer who heroically saves a freezing calf’s life.

The farmer named Dean Gangwer keeps cattle on his farm which is located in Rossville in Indiana. One freezing morning back in 2015, he accidentally noticed an uninvited little guest on his farm. As it was found out later, one of the cows he raised had given birth to a calf at night and the farmer didn’t know about that yet. Unluckily, she delivered the calf on a pile of snow and the newborn was literally freezing. The farmer noticed that the poor suffering calf hardly breathed and was unable to open its eyes. He immediately took the freezing baby home into a hot bath.

Unexpectedly, his plan appeared to work well. He explained that he was constantly with the baby even in the bath so that the newborn wouldn’t drown and that he could check the baby’s condition.

Before long, the poor calf’s body temperature normalized and the baby was already able to join its herd. The kind-hearted farmer’s impulsive and quick-thinking idea surprisingly worked and the newborn baby cow continued living.
